What Fishao 2: Fish With Friends does with your data

Fishao 2 is a multiplayer fishing game. This page says exactly what the game stores about you, why it stores it, who else can see it, and how to get rid of all of it. It is written to be read, not to be agreed to.

What we store

Your Google account. Signing in with Google is the only way in. We receive and keep the account identifier, the display name and the email address attached to it — that is what ties your progress to you on a new phone or in a browser, and it is how we can be sure it is really you if you ever write to us. We never see your Google password.
Your progress. Level, experience, coins, gems, rods, bait, your bag, your FishDex, quests, daily rewards, the zone you are in and what your character looks like.
Your friends. Who you added, who asked you, who you blocked, and your friend code.
Your weekly scores. One entry per week: heaviest catch, total weight and rare catches, shown on the leaderboards with your display name.
Where you are standing, while you play. Your position in the zone, which other players in that zone see. It is removed the moment you disconnect.
Reports. If you report another player, or somebody reports you, the report keeps both accounts and the reason.

What we do not store: we never ask for your phone number, your contacts, your location, your photos or your files. The game has no free-text chat, so you cannot type anything into it that could be stored — messages are a fixed list of preset phrases, and what is sent is a number pointing at one of them.

Who can see it

Other players can see your display name, your character, your level, your badges, the zone you are in and your leaderboard entries. Everything else — your coins, your gems, your bag, your friends list — is yours alone.

The game runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database and server functions). Google processes this data on our behalf. We do not sell your data, and nothing you see above is handed to anyone else. The one exception is advertising, and it is described in its own section below.

Fishao 2 shows rewarded video ads, supplied by Google AdMob. You are never made to watch one. Every ad is something you choose to start, in exchange for something in the game.

To pick an ad and to count it, AdMob collects your device's advertising ID, your IP address, which ads you interacted with, and basic diagnostic information about the device, and uses them for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. That is data going to an advertising network, not to us — which is why it sits in its own section rather than with everything above.

The advertising ID is yours to control. On Android, Settings → Privacy → Ads lets you reset it or delete it entirely. Deleting it does not stop the ads; it stops them being tailored to you. None of this is linked to your Fishao 2 account, your nickname or your progress.

Crashes

When the game crashes or misbehaves, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a report: the device model, the Android version, what the game was doing at the time, and an identifier for that installation of the app. It is the only way a fault that happens on one phone and no other ever gets found. We use these reports to fix the game and for nothing else.

Purchases

Gems are bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card, and no payment details reach the game or our servers. We receive only the confirmation that a purchase happened, so the gems can be added to your account.

Age

Fishao 2 is for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children, and it has no children's mode.

Deleting your account

You can delete everything yourself, from inside the game:

Open the menu (top right) → Settings → Account → Delete, then confirm.

That deletes your profile, bag, FishDex, inventory, friends (on both sides), friend code, every weekly score, every report involving you, your position in any zone, and your sign-in itself. Nothing is kept, there is no grace period, and it cannot be undone. Playing again means starting a new account from nothing.

If you cannot get into the game to do this, email [email protected] from the address of the Google account you play with, and we will delete it for you within 30 days.

Two things are not ours to delete. Google Play keeps its own record of anything you bought, because that record belongs to your Google account rather than to the game. Crash reports already sent are not attached to your account, and Google rotates them out on its own schedule.

Keeping it

Your data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account it goes immediately, as described above. Backups are rotated out within 30 days.

Fishao 2 and Fishao World

Fishao 2 is a separate game from Fishao World. Nothing is transferred between them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the game will say so before you carry on playing.
